With Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes, the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia highlights different approaches contemporary artists use to represent the face and body in an exhibition designed for children. My second favorite children’s book author is a wonderful woman named Cynthia Rylant.  Much like Kevin Henkes, her books span many age levels and are very relatable.  She writes picture books but also chapter books and novels.  She has written more than 100 books!  Ms. Rylant is someone that I would like to be just like when I grow up!  She is another author that you should be familiar with if you aren’t already.  Her books will amaze you!
