When the idea for this giveaway came to Rachel of RSutherlandPhotography, she had no idea how big it would get or how many wonderful local businesses would be willing to participate! Rachel thought it might be nice to give a few treats to one special mom. Rachel then asked me if I want to team up on this giveaway, and ...

TroopSwap Comes to Hampton Roads!
Military life is not easy. As a Navy spouse with two toddlers in month 6 of a
deployment, I will be the first to admit that. When others acknowledge the sacrifices
we as a military community make and say “thank you” for your service, it makes
those sacrifices just a little bit easier. Well, an amazing company called TroopSwap
is saying “thank you” in a big way.
TroopSwap is a daily deal site exclusive to the military community. Local businesses
offer steeply discounted goods and services just to service members ...

Paint with Water
The weatherman is calling for 80 degrees and sunny today and through the weekend! The sun is shining and summer is just around the corner. Keep your kids cool and entertained with this great outdoor activity.
What you'll need:
- A bucket of water
- A paint brush for each kid
What you'll do:
- Paint anything wood outside! The wood will turn a darker shade as it gets wet and will return back to normal as it dries. Let your kids 'paint' the fence, the side of the house, or ...

Strawberry Mice
Before becoming a Mommy, I taught elementary school…so every now and then the “teacher” in me comes out. As a teacher, I was a big fan of theme teaching….it was lots of fun and really pushed me to be creative. So when strawberry season came around, I searched high and low for a strawberry story to share with my kids. I found a winner in The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear by Don & Audrey Wood. This is the story of a little ...
