peace. love. swap. comes to Hampton Roads!
Read all about how you can get involved!
It’s been over 2 ½ years since Meg Franz, mother of 4, began thinking of a way to put together a local swap, where moms could get together and recycle their gently used baby, kid & maternity clothes and gear, and donate the leftovers to moms and families in need. Because kids grow out of stuff every 3-6 months, she didn’t want to do just a once in a while swap, but rather create an ongoing swap where moms and their kids could get together on a monthly or bi-monthly ...
November is National Adoption Month

King Tut Day

As a former teacher I love doing crafts with my son and integrating learning into them. Each week I bring you a craft that is fun, educational, and frugal! November 4 is King Tut Day to celebrate the date of the discovery of King Tutankhamen's Tomb. My first public school job was 2nd grade so we did A LOT of Egytian lessons. One of my favorites was always helping the kids create their own cartouche. A cartouche is a basically a name plate for royalty in Ancient Egypt ...
Macaroni Made
Fall Leaf
- Watered down watercolor paints
- Leaves cut out of large coffee filter (can buy pre-cut at some teacher stores)
- Eye droppers (think old medicine droppers)
What you do:
Water down the watercolor paint to make them more fluid.
Use eye droppers to drop colors onto each leaf.
The drops eventually spread out and touch and the colors blend.
Allow to dry before hanging.
