And we're celebrating by giving away passes to NBG all month long!
Norfolk Botanical Garden is celebrating the whole month of February by offering $5 admission to the gardens every day and opening their paved walking paths to bikes!
In addition, February 4th, NBG is hosting The Big Bike Bash! The Garden is partnering with East Coast Bicycles for a fun-filled day that celebrates all things bikes! Groundhog's Day is Thursday February 2, 2012
Each year on Feb. 2 since 1887, thousands of revelers climb atop Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, Pa., to witness the prediction of Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog with the mythical ability of forecasting either an early spring or lengthier winter. With the help of his keepers and protectors, the tuxedo-clad members of the mysterious Inner Circle, Phil shares that annual prediction with the world from the heart of the region appropriately known as the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Thursday, February 2 - Groundhog's Day Celebration
Suffolk Tourism is partnering with the Early Childhood Education Center and the Suffolk Art Gallery to celebrate Groundhog Day, on Thursday, February 2nd, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Suffolk Visitor Center Pavilion. This free kid-focused event will include a petting zoo by The Teeny Tiny Farm, Groundhog Day crafts, Playdoh® and blocks stations, as well as storytelling. Attendees are encouraged to bundle up for the event, however outdoor heaters will be provided. Families and pre-school groups are welcome to provide their own snacks

Thursday, February 2 - Groundhog Night
Join WAVY-TV Meteorologist Jeremy Wheeler and the VLM Groundhog as they predict the weather during a live broadcast at noon on groundhog day. Guests are asked to gather beginning at 11:30am for a live news broadcast on WAVY-TV 10. The ceremony is free to the public, and does not include admission to the museum. Then celebrate a special evening (6:30pm) filled with winter and spring activities including a visit from the Museum’s whistle pig – a.k.a. the groundhog. These programs are provided as a free service of the Chesapeake Public School System. January- “Exploring The Night Sky”-An introduction to the world of astronomy and stargazing will be our topic. We will demonstrate the basic use of a telescope and other optical instruments for observing the night sky. After the program we will observe through the planetarium’s large telescope (weather permitting).

For the Superbowl, we wanted to do a special craft. A craft that makes a lot of fantastic noises when your team gets a TOUCHDOWN!! Your little football fans will get a kick out of these jersey shakers.
