Drive Safe Hampton Roads,along with Walmart stores and Supercenters, AAA Tidewater Virginia, DMV: Virginia Highway Safety Office, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Synergy Recycling, WVEC Channel 13’s "Project Green", West Service Center, Waste Industries, and Hoffman Beverage have teamed up to conduct the 23rd Annual OLD, USED, BORROWED AND ABUSED CHILD SAFETY SEAT ROUND-UP.We have found that many safety seats are old, have missing parts, have been recalled by the manufacturer, or are no longer crashworthy. Drive Safe Hampton Roads and our partners want to “round them up” and recycle them so they cannot be used again.

International chess grandmaster Susan Polgar will lend her support to girls chess and the inaugural Virginia Queens All-Girl Championships.The Norfolk Initiative for Chess Excellence will hold the state's first all-girl chess scholarship championships on March 3 at Norfolk State University. The top two girls (one each from the rated and unrated sections) will receive $1,000 scholarships. This tournament to determine the girls state chess champion is free and open to all Virginia girls ages 5 to 18.

Each week I bring you a kids craft that is fun, educational, and frugal. Dr. Seuss's birthday is March 2nd and my son really loves these popular books. I always had a great time incorporating this day in my classroom and am really excited to now get to do Seuss themed crafts with my children.
