The Julliard School of Music is one of the top music schools in the world, and alumni Mayu Cipriani has made Virginia Beach her home. Fresh from winning an international competition in New York City, Mrs. Cipriani teaches about a dozen private students weekly at the Virginia Beach School of the Arts “I enjoy working with all ages and levels” the local virtuoso says.
Teaching along side Mrs. Cipriani is You-Chia Hsiao, who holds a masters degree in Violin Performance from the famed Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Ms. Hsiao’ students love her patient and encouraging approach to teaching. It’s not every day young talent has the opportunity to study with such world class talent.
Both of these Virginia Beach School of the Arts instructors perform with the Virginia Symphony and participate in several other ensembles in the region. If your child would enjoy studying violin, please contact the Virginia Beach School of the Arts at 757-717-7187, www.vabeachsa.com or emailing virginia@vbsota.com. The VBSA has loaner violins for each student’s $10 introductory trial lesson and parents are welcome in the studio during lessons.
So the next time you are at the Virginia Beach School of the Arts take a moment and listen. You just might hear the melodious strains of some of the finest violinists in the world.
