SUMMER ART CAMP AT VIRGINIA MOCA
Virginia MOCA Art Camps Include:
- Fun and creative programs for kids to explore painting, drawing, sculpture, animation, bookmaking, and so much more!
- Pre-K Summer Studio: this camp introduces art materials and studio practices that build creative confidence and school readiness by encouraging sensory exploration, process-based learning, discovery, and fine motor skill development.
- Mosaics: Create your own colorful mosaics using stones, shells, pebbles, and reclaimed pottery.
- Costume Design: Explore the basics of fashion sketching, design costumes for theater and film, and experiment with fabric textures and colors.
- Pop Art: Dive into the world of pop culture-themed art, translating today’s iconic imagery into visually stunning creations.
- Creative Character Makeup: Learn how to create stunning makeup and face paint looks for Halloween, cosplay, theater, and beyond!
- The Art of Crochet: Transform simple yarn into exciting projects like wearable accessories and blankets.
- Teen Ceramics Studio: Join us for a hands-on pottery wheel camp where we’ll explore connections between art and the environment.
- Architecture and Design: Create amazing sculptures inspired by architecture.

HOURS:
For Ages 6+
- Morning camps: Monday–Friday, 9:00–11:45 AM
- Afternoon camps: Monday–Friday, 12:15–3:00 PM
For Ages 2–5 (with caregiver)
- June 23 - July 25
- Monday–Friday, 9:30–11:00 AM
*There will be no camp on Friday, July 4, 2025
*Ceramics camps are two weeks long
Campers who will be at Virginia MOCA for full-day or back-to-back camps will be supervised by Virginia MOCA Art Camp staff during their lunch break.
CAMPS BY AGE
- All camps for ages 2-5, with caregiver
- All camps for ages 6-8
- All camps for ages 9-12
- All camps for ages 13-17
