Tidewater Collegiate Academy at Virginia Wesleyan University (TCA) is excited to offer summer camp programs to develop 21st century skills with a specific emphasis on service learning. We help keep your camper's brains engaged while school is out, and help them develop a belief that they can make a difference in their world. All programs are supervised by licensed teachers with expert guests including local artists, scientists, lawyers, professors, and engineers.
Programs are available for campers between the ages of 8-13 years old with leadership opportunities for campers 14-17 years old.
Camp is from 9-2 pm on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University.

SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS
Hall of Artists - Unleash your creativity and develop new skills while learning about artists from a variety of time periods and different media forms. Campers will create beautiful works of art all week and celebrate with an art show at the end of the week.

Night Owls - It's all the fun of camp, after dark, filled with glow sticks, star gazing, night hikes, and camp fires. Campers will explore the mystery of all things nocturnal while enjoying time with new and old friends.

Global Scholars Leadership Academy - Learn to lead while enjoying all the fun of camp activities. We are partnering with the Robert Nussbam Center at Virginia Wesleyan University to learn how to participate and conduct Deliberative Dialogues. These structured discussions help people from different backgrounds to address complex issues by building connections to find common ground for action. Join a select and diverse group of middle and high school students to develop and activate your leadership super powers. All campers will receive a certificate of participation and a record of volunteer hours.

Just for Girls - It's the Ultimate slumber party, full of crafts, girl talk, and too many snacks. Girls come together to build lifelong friendships, discover their inner strength, and explore new ways to express themselves! We focus on fun, empowerment, and self-expression in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Pet Pals - Rabbits, and Dogs, and Reptiles, Oh My! If you love pets, this camp is for you. Learn more about taking care of pets and how pets take care of us by meeting amazing pet heroes from our area, participating in animal demonstrations, making pet themed crafts, and taking part in animal care workshops. Finish the week off by taking part in a service project to help our local animals.
